Comparisons
Your tool, fairly compared.
We compare each tool on its own, with our platform (The AI agents we build for your firm run on our platform. We host the platform in Switzerland; external models may process data elsewhere.) and as a whole system.
Twelve comparisons
Twelve tools and ways of working that Swiss SMEs use or are weighing up today, from the chat subscription to the spreadsheet that was always there. Every article ends with the same table and a verdict.
ChatGPT Business
ChatGPT Business for SMEs: alone, connected or as a system
Your team already writes emails, quotes and summaries with ChatGPT. Is more worth it? We compare ChatGPT Business on its own, connected to our platform, and as part of our whole system, with the same six questions.
Microsoft 365 Copilot
Microsoft 365 Copilot for SMEs: great in Office, and the rest?
Copilot already sits in the ribbon of Outlook, Word and Teams. The question is not whether it helps but where its help ends. We compare Copilot on its own, connected to our platform, and as part of our whole system.
Claude and Claude Code
Claude and Claude Code for SMEs: lots of power, little scaffolding
Claude Code reads your files, writes, calculates and runs commands. Once you have seen it, you want more. We compare Claude on its own, connected to our platform, and as part of our whole system, with the same six questions.
Zapier and Make
Zapier and Make for SMEs: glue with a meter running
Zapier and Make connect thousands of apps without anyone writing code. Use them for a while, though, and you also know the meter, and the Zap only one person understands. We compare the two on their own, connected to our platform, and as part of our whole system.
Your team has gathered its knowledge in Notion, and now the AI should work with it. It can, until the work leaves Notion. We compare Notion AI on its own, connected to our platform, and as part of our whole system.
Your IT partner makes sure laptops, mail and backups work. On AI, they may say: ‘We can license Copilot.’ We compare the IT partner on their own, with our platform added, and our whole system, with the same six questions.
Since early 2025, Gemini has come with every Business plan of Google Workspace. In the open document it helps straight away. Between the documents, where work moves from one system to the next, it goes quiet. We compare Workspace with Gemini on its own, connected to our platform, and as part of our whole system.
n8n connects apps, runs code and builds AI agents, on your own server if you like. That is a lot of freedom, and then you run the server too. We compare n8n on its own, connected to our platform, and as part of our whole system.
Cursor and co.
Cursor and co. for SMEs: tools for people who code
With Cursor, an agent writes in minutes what used to take a weekend. For people who code, that is a gift. We compare Cursor and similar tools on their own, connected to our platform, and as part of our whole system.
Obsidian with plugins
Obsidian with plugins for SMEs: a good foundation, a lot of DIY
Obsidian keeps your knowledge as files on your computer, and plugins bring AI into it. It is a good foundation; we build on it ourselves. We compare Obsidian with plugins on its own, connected to our platform, and as part of our whole system.
Power Automate comes with Microsoft 365, and a first flow is quick to build. Things get interesting at the second connector, at the old program with no interface, and at the licence. We compare Power Automate on its own, connected to our platform, and as part of our whole system.
Changing nothing is a decision too, and often a good one. Excel and Google Sheets are paid for, and everyone knows them. We compare the spreadsheets as they are, connected to our platform, and as part of our whole system, and work out when more pays off.
Your tool is missing?
Tell us which tool your team uses or is weighing up. We compare it with the same six questions.
Suggest a toolHow we compare
Every comparison answers the same six questions, for the tool on its own, for the tool with our platform and for the whole system:
- Setup effort
- Where the data lives, privacy
- Cost per month, a 5-person SME
- What you still do by hand
- What stops when the subscription ends
- Who owns the result
We work out the costs for an SME of five people, at the providers’ list prices, and give the day we read them.
What we say about other tools comes from their providers’ own pages, and every article lists its sources. Our own prices are those of our packages. Where a tool on its own is enough, we say so.
FAQ
Questions about the comparisons
Can you connect the setup to our existing software?
In many cases, yes. We have already connected Bexio, Abacus, a transport management system and the MS Access database of a hand-built system, among many others. We first check your own systems to see whether a connection is possible and worthwhile. If we cannot help with your project, we will tell you.
The interview asks which software you use, such as Microsoft 365, SAP, Abacus or Bexio, and whether any of it is already connected. The written quote sets out what we agree to connect and which Excel files the workflow (A workflow specifies what information goes in, what happens to it and who checks the result.) will use.
Check what your existing software can do before adding a connection. Read ‘The cheapest solution might already be installed’.
Must we use Claude Code or a particular provider?
No. The choice of AI harness (An AI harness is the workspace on your computer in which AI reads files and carries out agreed steps.), model and provider remains yours. Claude Code (Claude Code is an AI harness made by Anthropic: it runs on your computer, reads files and carries out steps you describe in plain language.) is an option, not a requirement. Your working files are in the installed vault (The vault is a folder of your working files on your computer; we create it from the vault template.) on your machine. If you use a cloud model (The cloud means computers in a provider’s data centres on which programs run and data is kept, instead of on your own device.), we discuss what content goes to its provider.
What might I pay for after setup?
You pay once for the setup, at a fixed price. We put its scope and price in writing before work begins.
Running costs may include a Business seat (The Business seat is one person’s access to our platform (open alpha); Pro Setup includes three months, and with Operator System it is six per person.), if your package includes one and its included months have ended (CHF 199.– per person per month, or CHF 169.– a month billed yearly, which is CHF 2'028.– a year), model usage (Model usage means accessing an AI provider’s language model. The cost is not included in the setup price.) (charged according to usage) and separately agreed support (CHF 500.– to 2'000.– per month). Other licences may cost extra.
For model usage, here are two examples of business plans for two or more people, as of October 2026, depending on plan and billing: ChatGPT Business: CHF 15.– to 19.–; Claude Team: USD 20.– to 125.–, each per person per month. Usage beyond what a plan includes costs extra. You choose the provider. If you prefer, we manage your account with the AI provider (An AI provider runs language models and sells access to them, for example OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude) or Google (Gemini).) or provide API keys (An API key is a secret access code that lets a workflow use a service such as a language model.) where the provider’s licence allows it. We invoice you for the cost.
For an example of first-year costs, see ‘Additional costs’. ‘What does AI automation cost an SME? Setup and running costs’ shows how to calculate your costs using a worksheet.
Where will our working files be after setup?
The working files in the installed vault are on your machine. If you use a cloud model, its provider receives the content you send to it. We discuss which data you can use with it.
For confidential files, we assess whether a local or hybrid (Locally, the language model runs on your hardware; in a hybrid setup the working files stay local and only the excerpts needed go to a cloud model.) setup fits. We host our platform in Switzerland, but a cloud AI provider may process content you send it elsewhere. Before setup, we establish what goes to which provider. See ‘Data and processing’.
The written quote sets out how files are backed up, what availability you need and how you can retrieve your data.
Our IT partner manages our devices. How do you involve them?
Installation on your device requires admin rights (Administrator rights allow you to install programs on a device and change settings for all its users.). Depending on the package, we install the chosen AI harness and other tools. We discuss with you which tools your IT team needs to approve.
The interview asks who looks after your IT and who else needs to be involved, such as an IT partner. If your IT partner handles installations, we send them the list of required tools and agree the approach with them.
