FAQ
Questions about data and tools
Will AI providers use our inputs to train their models?
That depends on the provider and your account. Under the terms available in October 2026, OpenAI (An AI provider runs language models and sells access to them, for example OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude) or Google (Gemini).), Anthropic and Google say they do not use inputs through paid API (An API is an interface through which one program uses the data or functions of another, without a screen or a mouse.) access for training by default. Anthropic says the same for business accounts such as Claude (An AI assistant is a chat program such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity: you write in plain language, and a language model answers.) for Work. Free and personal accounts may have different terms. Check the terms for the account you will use.
If the chosen provider offers terms that exclude training on your inputs (In training, a language model learns from large amounts of text; some providers also use their users’ inputs for it.), we set up your access on those terms and show you the relevant clause before work begins.
If the model runs on your own hardware, your inputs are not sent to a model provider.
Where will our working files be after setup?
The working files in the installed vault are on your machine. If you use a cloud model (The cloud means computers in a provider’s data centres on which programs run and data is kept, instead of on your own device.), its provider receives the content you send to it. We discuss which data you can use with it.
For confidential files, we assess whether a local or hybrid (Locally, the language model runs on your hardware; in a hybrid setup the working files stay local and only the excerpts needed go to a cloud model.) setup fits. We host our platform (The AI agents we build for your firm run on our platform. We host the platform in Switzerland; external models may process data elsewhere.) in Switzerland, but a cloud AI provider may process content you send it elsewhere. Before setup, we establish what goes to which provider. See ‘Data and processing’.
The written quote sets out how files are backed up, what availability you need and how you can retrieve your data.
Must we use Claude Code or a particular provider?
No. The choice of AI harness (An AI harness is the workspace on your computer in which AI reads files and carries out agreed steps.), model and provider remains yours. Claude Code (Claude Code is an AI harness made by Anthropic: it runs on your computer, reads files and carries out steps you describe in plain language.) is an option, not a requirement. Your working files are in the installed vault on your machine. If you use a cloud model, we discuss what content goes to its provider.
Who owns our data and the workflows you build?
Your data, files and accounts with your chosen providers belong to you. You receive a licence to use the workflows (A workflow specifies what information goes in, what happens to it and who checks the result.), AI task instructions (skills) and commands (A command starts a defined workflow. In Pro Setup, we set up three to five commands for your work.) we build for you. Jules Solutions retains the rights to that work. The written quote sets the terms of your licence.
Where do my answers from the interview go?
The interview saves every answer the moment you give it: in your browser and on our server (A server is a computer that runs all the time and provides services to other devices, such as email, files or a website.), for 30 days, or 12 months once you have given an email address. You can delete it all at any time. From level three, your answers go to Anthropic so an AI model (A language model is the actual AI behind an AI assistant: it has learned from a great deal of text and writes an answer to an input.) can order the questions; you can also continue without the model. Details are in the privacy notice.
In the earlier checks, your answers stay in your browser until you submit the report. You then receive a short version without your free-text answers. Jules Solutions receives the full report. A function at Vercel (Vercel is a US provider that runs websites and their server functions.) in Frankfurt processes the submission; we use Resend (Resend is a US service through which programs send emails; we use it for this website’s emails.) and Google Workspace for email. Data may reach the USA. Details are in the privacy notice.
Start with the interview
From reading to your own workflow.
The free interview asks about your work, one question at a time. Your report shows where your time goes and where it pays to start.
No technical knowledge needed, no account. You can stop any time and continue later.
